There are 2 ways to upgrade a type of troops. You should always place your Bowmen units in the back to keep them safe. Light Bowmen: Bowmen have the highest attack and the lowest defense and HP. But they are useful for countering Cavalry units. Light Spearmen: Spearmen have lower defense and HP than the Shieldmen but their attack is slightly higher.
